Thursday - 3/7/08 Rates will not change today ***Important statement re Zim Banks *** The rates have changed - we expect massive increases in the ZWD rates over the next few weeks as it readjusts to inflation. Thus we advise you to send your funds with us via forex and fuel coupons. The banking system has been haywire since last week Wednesday and this has not been fully resolved as yet, Barclays has started limiting the value of transactions they process at the branch referring all large amounts to head office for processing. Large amounts are anything above $4 trillion. They further state that due to the fact that they have to split the amounts into $900bn lots and given the massive number of transactions they are processing it is not guaranteed that everything will be processed that same day. In short they are saying they will process what they can and do the rest the following day. This has, understandably, created a lot of pressure with our clients.
